Born in Polokwane, Limpopo and raised in Vosloorus,Johannesburg, South Africa: September Arts is a Sociopolitical artist who was heavily influenced by Hip Hop, Lofi, Afro-Pop, Afro beat, Jazz and Alternative RnB in order to create what he has now founded as a genre called Afro-Poetry. The recording artist, who is also a sound engineer, producer and composer, continuously creates rhythms and sounds that give his audience a trip into the African experience, lifestyle, politics and psychology drawn from his own life’s journey. This is why he describes Afro-Poetry as a Sociopolitical sub-genre of Hip Hop. The artists interests are also drawn from his journey into the entertainment industry where he was faced with many hardships as an independent artist who has worked across different fields to nurture his career, therefore acquiring experience with merchandising, marketing and self-publishing.
